It seems like a long time ago that we participated in Dr. Seuss Week! As we move into remote learning, be sure to check out our song page, and our extra resources page. I will be posting videos to this playlist for students to watch. I am also hoping to be able to set up some live classes when we determine the best platform for that. Wishing everyone health and sanity right now!

The new year has brought new words to our vocabulary. We have been looking at various modes of transportation in preparation for a new Pocoyo video that has a tortoise-and-hare feel to it. In class we have been having "races" between different vehicles, predicting which will go faster and farther. A new song allows us to sing about transportation and practice our numbers as well. |

We have left Pocoyo for the time being, but he will be back! We have been doing lots of polls in recent week, exploring how our friends feel about different fruits. This has allowed us to learn vocabulary to express our personal preferences and has added a new song to our repertoire. We have also looked at some fun photos from the book How Are You Peeling?; I wrote a blog post about this fun unit last year, and you can read it here. |

French has been pouring out of the mouths of kindergarteners in recent weeks. As one recent observer noted, "I was impressed with the level of understanding that the K students had with the language." We have been preparing our Halloween song, and have been inserting the characters from that song into another song which has one animal keeping a friend safe from danger.
We have made a new friend, Pocoyo, and he will be visiting us throughout the year. I am eager to continue to share our adventures with you!

We have been having a lot of fun in kindergarten since the beginning of the year. We have learned some songs and told our first story of a poor dragon on the search for something to complete his life (which he does, you'll be happy to know!)
Click here for a list of the songs and videos with which we have been working in class.
