It seems like a long time ago that we were getting back to the adventures of Muzzy, Bob, Sylvia, and Corvax! Before we moved to remote learning, we had been working with places in a town as well as continuing to practice with months, days, and weather. As we move into remote learning, be sure to check out our extra resources page. I will be posting videos to this playlist for students to watch. (I must admit, I'm pretty happy about my hand-washing song!!) I am also hoping to be able to set up some live classes when we determine the best platform for that. Wishing everyone health and sanity right now!

We have had a variety of words enter our repertoire in recent weeks. We learned a new song that has a duck-duck-goose feel to it; it has helped us practice days of the week. We have been talking about our fears in preparation for a new short video clip in which three characters who don't seem to have anything in common join forces to protect each other. |

The focus of our classes recently has been a sneaky, somewhat naughty cat who, in typical feline fashion, finds great entertainment with a box. Our activities in class have focused on both images and sentences, so our opportunities to read French are increasing.
Several silly songs about animals have given us additional opportunities to use prepositions of location in context. Additionally, we have been playing math games that have allowed us to use numbers in specific situations, increasing our familiarity and fluency.
Next up will be another animated short film that shows us that differences that seem problematic can sometimes bring about pleasant surprises and new friends.

It was wonderful to meet with some of you at Curriculum Night a couple of weeks ago, and hope to see even more of you at Open House later this month!
In first grade French, we have been working with La Chenille qui fait des trous, a familiar story to us, for the past few weeks. We had fun with our "pineapple song," and talked about our fruit preferences. We did some graphing of these likes and dislikes, and then made a chart of dogs eating various fruits based on a video we watched. Muzzy will be reappearing soon.
I have really enjoyed "catching up" with these students this fall!
